Going to a concert with my dad? Bad idea?

I'm going to see Parkway Drive, one of my favourite bands, play on Wednesday. I have my ticket, the only problem is that my friends bailed on me last minute. This is a show I'd kick myself for missing, but my dad insists on coming as it's not safe to go to a concert on my own, despite it being an over 14's event. He is into the same kind of stuff I'm into, I guess, but should I let him come with me, or just sell my ticket? I'd be kind of uncomfortable going with my dad, people I know will be there and might see me as a little weird trailing my dad around to a gig.
