Are limos safe ?????????????????????/?

Okay so I heard about the drunk driving incident that happened 5 years ago in long Island on the Meadowbrook parkway, with the limo crashing into a car traveling the wrong way on the parkway on the july 4th weekend. I am going to prom in a limo on a wednesday night in june.We are going to prom and then pre prom which ends at three, but we have the limo until 530 so, we are traveling about five minutes away at 3 to the beach and then leaving to go home at like 5 in the morning, I am really nervous now after hearing about this story. I am going with my boyfriend and I really don't want to let him down and not go in the limo, but I am really nervous, what do I do? :/ Do you think something like this would happen? Its a cadailic escalade stretch.where is the safest place to sit, on the sides?
